PostHeaderIcon Green Energy: Electricity From Wind

Oooh, I want one so bad!! A windmill, or wind generator, which is. And not simply any turbine, I want a vertical axis windmill. I wish to generate green energy, or electricity, from wind.

If we installed a solar array to get about 7.5kW/day I managed to get to believing that i was missing some valuable energy production time by lacking a wind turbine. A that point the guy who installed the photo voltaic array told us we weren’t good candidates for wind energy. Huh? Surely the wind blows on a regular basis here. How could we ‘t be good candidates?

His reply was that the wind we get is erratic, going from not 14mph, right down to 5mph or more to 35 mph. Traditional turbines need higher wind speeds to efficiently generate electricity, and don’t deal well with gusts and wind shears like we often bypass here.

During my heart I knew there must be a way. The west was tamed with the help of windmills. How, in the chronilogical age of improved technology, couldn’t there certainly be a better deal than there is over A hundred years ago?
